My aunt was in West Broward Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for rehab. It was pretty good, the only thing that upset me a little bit was, she wasn't sitting up much. She was in bed most of the time, other than the time when she was going for physical therapy. I didn't see her sitting up in a wheelchair or anything like that, and it might have been her refusing, so I don't know. That's the only thing that I would say was bad, everything else was pretty good, except for the food. At first we was not to sure about the facility, but as we continued her stay we found that the nursing staff was very helpful and hands on.

Switching gears to the final area, this facility was awarded a highly favorable short-term care rating. While this isn't quite as elite as some of its other category grades, this is nevertheless one of our better grades a facility can receive. Our short-term care grades are considered to be most meaningful for those in need of rehabilitation services.
The average starting cost of this facility is the same as the average cost for the area, $4,402 per month. Our diverse team allows for a very personal but comprehensive treatment to your injury or illness. It allows the patient to have a one stop shop for their medical needs and subsequent treatment options. This is the percent of patients who retained mobility levels over time. Preserving mobility is usually a good sign for residents' health.

This tells you the percent of long-term care patients which have experienced a UTI. UTI's could be an indicator of a facility with worst hygiene practices. However, this statistic may be skewed for some facilities due to inconsistent reporting standards for infections.

This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Florida in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving patients at least once a day. My father had rehab at Broward Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, which also serves as a long-term care facility.
About Broward Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Food and dining is an important consideration when selecting a nursing homes facility. Three meals a day are offered to residents, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Measures the number of times residents are rehospitalized per 1,000 days of short-term patient care. This metric is a measure of the percent of long-term stay residents who required additional assistance with activities of daily living over time.
It's somewhat connected to the Broward General Hospital System because the doctors all confer with them as well. There were lots of opportunities for the patients and people staying there for entertainment and social activities. My father got excellent physical therapy while he was there. I found it to be a pretty exceptional and lively facility. The staff engaged the other patients and attendees. There was a garden area in the courtyard, which had an area for smoking, and an area for people to do gardening and horticulture.
The Staff have their hands full, this is not an easy job…not only are the patients in all kinds of distress but so are the family members that visit. I have felt comfortable every time I have come to be with my mother and I have been met with informed and conscientious Nursing Staff at every turn. Tonight, our assigned CNA, Olvita went above and beyond during a difficult evening for my Mother. She made us feel that no task was too difficult and she assisted us promptly and with compassion even when her work load was overwhelmingly non stop. I am grateful for their Good Manners and Willing Spirits when we needed it most. Our 24 hour skilled nursing programs are designed to meet the medical, social, and emotional needs of our patients.

Currently I don’t feel the best and I don’t feel the worst. But just having an attentive and friendly staff makes the process better for me. This metric tracks the number of emergency room visits per 1,000 days of short-term patient care.

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with better grades in this category most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse.
